Lincolnton fell to 0-2 on the season after dropping another low-scoring contest, this time 14-0 to the Red Raiders at Memorial Stadium on Friday.
After a scoreless first quarter, South Point (1-1) got on the board in the second period and took a 7-0 lead in to the half. They extended the lead to two touchdowns in the second half, and shut down the Wolves scoring threats each time they would reach or get near the red zone.
Freshman quarterback Reid King, filling in for E.J. Manjarress who was sidelined with a shoulder injury, completed seven of 20 pass attempts for 75 yards. The Wolves were held to 64 yards on the ground on 24 attempts. Dejarris Gash had five catches for 44 yards.
Davion Bryant led the Lincolnton defense with 14 tackles, while Tyler Duncan recorded 12.
The Wolves will travel to North Gaston this Friday, while South Point will host their home opener against Clover.
