Wolves defeat North Gaston 32-14

The Wolves (1-2) picked up their first win of the year with a non-conference victory over the Wildcats.  Filling in for senior E.J. Manjarress, freshman quarterback Reid King threw for 137 yards and a pair of scores on 12 of 16 passing, including a pick in Lincolnton’s win.  Amontre Finger had 21 carries for 126 yards and a touchdown. Dejarris Gash, 3 receptions for 64 yards, had a 24-yard touchdown catch and returned an interception 60 yards for another score. Desndre Smith hauled in six catches for 53 yards.

Davion Bryant (10 tackles) and Tyler Duncan (9 tackles) led the Wolves’ defense.   

For North Gaston (1-2), Jaqualon Camp had several big kickoff returns and scored on an 85-yard touchdown run in the fourth period.

The Wildcats will travel to East Lincoln next week, while the Wolves will host East Gaston.
