Mustangs rout conference leader Lake Norman Charter

East Lincoln 67, Lake Norman Charter 37

The Mustangs played a smothering man-to-man defense and held the Knights to fewer points each quarter and they completely dominated with a 67-37 rout in the South Fork 2A Conference game played Friday night in Huntersville.

East Lincoln was led by seniors Myles Adams, who had 20 points, and Justin Kuthan who had a double-double with 20 points and 15 rebounds and also added 6 assists.  Sophomore Evan Montanari added 17 points for the Mustangs.

The Knights had two players in double figures, led by sophomore Donovan Atwell who had 13 points and junior Cal Reed with 11.

The Mustangs will be at home against Lincolnton on Tuesday night, while the Knights will be on the road atNorth Lincoln.

Note: East Lincoln’s defense held the Knights to 14-30 on 2-point field goals and 2-18 on 3-point for a combined 16-48 (33%).
