Mustangs can’t hold off Statesville

Statesville 69, East Lincoln 64

The Mustangs led 34-26 at halftime, but the Greyhounds outscored them 44-30 in the 2nd half to take the non-conference game by a score of 69-64 Monday night in Statesville.

The Greyhounds had four players in double figures led by, junior, Josiah Gathings, who had 16 points, while seniors, Chris Brown and Mikyei Fields, had 16 and 14 points, followed by sophomore, Messiah Robinson, who had 10 points.

East Lincoln had three players in double figures, led by senior, Justin Kuthan, who had a double-double with 32 points and 11 rebounds.  Senior, Myles Adams, added 18 points, and sophomore, Jeremiah Jones added a double-double with 10 points and 11 assists.

The Mustangs will be at Kimmel Arena at UNC-Asheville in the Coaches vs. Cancer tournament against the AC Reynolds Rockets on Saturday, November 30 at 7:00 PM.  The Greyhounds will be on the road against the Lake Norman Wildcats on Tuesday, December 3.
