The Knights overcame a sluggish start, but could not stop Parkwood down the stretch in a 29-22 season-opening overtime loss in Monroe.
After North Lincoln fell behind 14-0 early in the game, the Knights stormed back with three straight scores to take a 22-14 lead. But the Rebels would tie the game late on a 53-yard touchdown pass to send the game to overtime.
In the overtime period, Parkwood had the ball first and scored on their possession to take a 29-22 lead. The Rebels then kept the Knights out of the end zone on their four downs, holding on for the win.
North Lincoln will take on East Rutherford this Friday in their home opener, while Parkwood visits Cox Mill.
