Newton-Conover girls clinch, LNC boys inch closer to South Fork 2A title

The Lady Red Devils clinched at least a share of the South Fork 2A Conference regular season championship Tuesday night with a dominating 82-25 win over Lake Norman Charter. Newton-Conover (18-2, 11-0) have a three-game lead over both East Lincoln and Bandys with just three games remaining.

The Lake Norman Charter boys (15-5, 10-1) got a huge win Tuesday night, defeating second-place Newton-Conover 46-43 on the road to keep the Knights on top in the SF2A. LNC maintains their one-game lead over East Lincoln with 3 games to play. The Knights still have to face Lincolnton at home, Bandys on the road and West Lincoln at home to end the season.
